The cannon ball style of bed is used as the most important bedroom furniture of the central period which is from the year 1780-1830. In this style the designer incorporates the cannonball symbol on the legs of the bed. Though cannon ball bed has become rare still in some shops they are available. Toughness, strength and hardwood construction is the trademark of this type of furniture.

Things one need for placing cannon ball type of bedroom furniture:

1) Cannon ball bed- This bed is placed in the bedroom which will be the focusing point of your decoration. If there are 2 windows in one room and on one side of wall then the cannon ball bed is placed between them. This increases the decor of the room.

4) Use of heavy brocade or velvet window curtains- Try to choose dormant color in contrast to the carpet. These were federal era traditional colors. Rich green hues, yellow-gold, royal blue, teal, and spice tones were the color of those days.

5) Placing family portraits- Increase your decorative plan by placing family portraits. Always try to choose pewter frames or silver frames. This makes in contrast with the cannon ball bed.
