What is Legal Aid?

Legal aid is the special service offered in which a person is provided with financial support to fight a particular case. When a person opts for legal aid scheme he or she is entitled to get professional advice and financial support in a number of matters related to a particular case. In order to receive legal aid there are certain criteria that a person must fulfil. The financial support will depend on the income of a person and the amount of support a person actually requires. For example if you earn enough amount annually then you may get legal aid in a crucial case whereas if you are unemployed then you are more likely to be entitled to the support.

Legal aid will also depend on the kind of case you are indulging in. Say if you are fighting a criminal case that requires a good amount of money then you may be subjected to financial support more than any other family based case. Therefore legal aid is depended on number of factors that need to be fulfilled before you actually avail the scheme. Whereas, there are certain cases where one cannot be provided with legal aid at all.
